TEACHER

It's All About Me

I am very excited about a new semester of mathematics at Parker High School. I graduated in March 2006 with a BA in Secondary Education in Mathematics and earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in May 2009 from Grand Canyon University. I began my career at Parker High School as a substitute in August 1999. I moved to Parker in March 1999 from Tucson, AZ when my husband Michael was transferred. I have an 11-yr old son, Thomas, attending an online school. I have eight cats (HP, Tiramisu, Gomi, PK, Spot, Levy, Nightshade, and Stripe) and two dogs (Freckles and Daizy). I enjoy reading, scrap booking, and needle pointing.

Note to Parents

 Hello Parents:

If you would like specific information about your child and his/her attendance, current grade, or missing assignments; please e-mail me at kszczepaniak@parkerusd.org or call me at 928-669-2202 ext. 1106. I will get back to you as quickly as possible. I will be more than happy to contact you weekly by e-mail with your son or daughter's weekly progress report, upon request. To set this up, simply e-mail me with your son or daughter's name and request to be added to the weekly e-mail list.

Please be aware that I do give each student his/her gradesheet every week. Please ask your son or daughter for this grade report. It is the students responsibility to report this to his/her parent. If your son or daughter says he or she did not get one, question it. These grade sheets are usually given on Monday or Tuesday. No one should ever say that they do not know what their grade is in my class. I tell them all the time!

I want my students to know how they are doing every step of the way. No one should be suprised to find out they are not going to pass this course as they know every week what they must do in order to pass the class and what their current grade is.

Please plan on attending Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences on February 2, 2011. You will be receiving more information about conferences in the mail. I look forward to meeting you!

Don't hesitate to contact me at anytime, for any reason. I am here for you and our son or daughter. If I can help, I WILL!!! In fact, if you e-mail me right away, I will send you a weekly e-mail update on your son or daughter, usually Monday or Tuesday with a current grade, attendance, and assignments. This way you will, for sure, get correct information directly from me.

Mission For The Class and PHS Mission

This web site is for use by students and their parents. Please look at all the pages on the navigation bar. There you will find all the information you will need to be successful in any of Mrs. Szczepaniak's classes. If you have any questions that can not be answered through these web pages, please e-mail Mrs. Szczepaniak at kszczepaniak@parkerusd.org.

Mrs. Szczepaniak strives to help the students become responsible for their own actions. She strives to use instruction to enable students to become responsible citizens. Though she is the "teacher" the students will only be successful when they take responsibility for their own education. Mrs. Szczepaniak is a facilitator of learning.

If you are a parent and would like an emailed weekly progress report, please e-mail me and request to be put on my weekly e-mail list.

PHS Mission
PHS assumes the responsibility of providing an environment conducive to the intellectual, emotional and physical growth of its students. We guide students toward becoming responsible members of society and discovering their own individual identities. Through guidance, classroom instruction and various activities, PHS fosters the formation of attitudes, ideals and values which will guide and sustain the students as they assume their role in society and the changing world.
